Insurance Claims and Litigation
I was a partner in the insurance practice of Dentons before leaving to form my own practice. I have handled and supervised coverage matters and claim litigation, concentrating on Liability and Property Policies for over 40 years.I have assisted in the development of policies and procedures for claims, including establishing organizational structures and guidelines for claims personnel. I have created and executed litigation strategies for his clients in the areas of first-party and third-party coverages, bad faith, class actions, and bankruptcies involving insurance coverage, My practice involved appearances in state and federal courts across the country. My experience includes handling claims and litigation arising out of commercial general liability, umbrella, and excess liability, directors and officers, fiduciary, auto, homeowners, commercial property, and other forms of coverage. In the liability coverage area, I have handled claims involving asbestos, environmental exposures, offshore well blow-outs, sexual abuse, concussions, and numerous other liabilities. Additionally, in the first-party coverage area, I have handled numerous catastrophe claims involving many of the most prominent natural disasters in the past two decades. I was licensed to practice in Illinois in 1982 and was licensed in California in 1987. I am on retired status in Illinois effective 12/31/2025 and am currently on inactive status in California.
